Wooden Steps Repair

Old porch steps sag after years of rain and boots. Same fix works under any sky, colony or home.

Tools & Materials

Steps

  1. Pry off loose treads, check stringers for rot.
  2. Cut new boards to length with a slight front lip.
  3. Drill pilot holes and screw down—two per stringer.
  4. Coat everything with preservative. Let dry two days.

Steady hands keep folks safe. Back in the day we fixed these same steps for thirty years running.
